St.
Peter School uniforms may be purchased at Dennis Uniform Company
located at 1400 East Business Center Drive, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.

Uniform clothing may also be purchased at other stores as
long as it is consistent with the uniform policy.

GYM
UNIFORMS
Gym
uniforms are purchased through order forms available at the School
office. They are not
available at the Dennis Uniform Company.
The required T-shirt and shorts are available for purchase
during the first two weeks of school.

On
out of uniform days, students in grades kindergarten through third
grade do not have to wear gym uniforms provided they have
appropriate clothing and gym shoes for gym class.
Students in grades 4 through 8 will change into gym uniforms
in the locker room as usual. Students
in K through 3 may wear their gym uniform to school during warm
weather (April 15th through October 15th)
without their regular uniform.
Students in grades K through 3 may wear their gym uniform
with navy blue sweat pants and sweatshirt on gym days during the
winter months (October 15th through April 15th).
UNIFORM
RULES
Each
student is expected to be in complete, presentable, and clean
uniform each day unless an out of uniform day has been declared for
the school, class, or the student uses a school awarded out of
uniform pass. Proper grooming is expected of each student.
Official
St. Peter School sweatshirts purchased at the Dennis Uniform or
previously purchased through the PTO are the only sweatshirts
permitted. Uniform
slacks should not be: rolled up at the ankles, made of jean
material, have extra outside pockets or nail heads.
It
is the responsibility of the parents to see that their children are
in uniform. If a child
is not in complete uniform a note must be sent to the homeroom
teacher explaining the reason.
If
a child comes to school out of uniform and without a note, the
parents will be called. Compliance
is expected.
Removable
boots should be worn on days when there is snow. Shoe boots should not be worn in school — other shoes
should be brought along.
During
out of uniform days when uniforms are not required, students are to
come to school neat and presentable.
Students may wear jeans, provided they are not torn and are
in good condition. T-shirts
with inappropriate sayings or pictures are not acceptable.
Students
are not to wear make-up, nail polish or tattoos. Girls may have a hint of nail polish, i.e. clear, white, or
pale pink. Girls are
allowed to wear only one pair of post style earrings.
Boys are not to wear earrings. Students who have hairstyles
too long or have styles that can disrupt the academic environment
will be told to cut or change their hairstyles.
Hair should be neatly combed and trimmed.
No sandals, bandanas, or hats may be worn.
Shoes for all grades must have a closed toe.
The heel and sole of the shoe should be no higher than ˝
inch. If shoes have
laces they must be tied. Belts,
if worn, should be solid brown, navy, or black.
No studded belts or chains are allowed.
Uniform shirts must be tucked in.
Walking shorts shall not exceed 3 inches either above or
below the knee.
Socks shall be visible 3 inches above the shoe
On out of uniform days no flip-flops, clogs, tank-tops,
halters, crop tops, or
midriffs.
Out of Uniform passes shall not be used on Holy Days or
special services in the
Chapel, or when there
are services in the Church or Chapel or when representing
the school
at any event, i.e. Battle of the
Books.
The principal will have final discretion over uniform
decisions. Request for
changes in the uniform policy shall be
brought to the School Board
WARM
WEATHER UNIFORMS
On
gym days during warm weather K through 3 students may wear their gym
uniform to school without the regular uniform.
From April 15th to October 15th
students may wear the navy twill walking shorts.
